MemberAwardsAre there certain names that come to mind when you think of individuals who consistently or significantly contribute to bettering our profession and PTAG? Do you know someone who has made a difference in Georgia regarding the practice of Physical Therapy? It is time to recognize those individuals who have worked tirelessly for all of us.

UPDATE: Great News, the deadline to submit your member awards nomination has been extended. Please complete the Nomination Form and submit by Tuesday, January 16th! 

Please take a moment to say thank you by submitting the Member Award Nomination Form for a deserving individual to the Awards Workgroup for consideration. The 2018 awards will be presented during IMPACT, PTAG's Annual Conference.

If you have ideas for other types of awards or someone you feel deserves recognition, but whose service doesn’t quite fit into one of the sets of criteria listed below, please contact us. Let’s recognize those who serve our profession.

Award Descriptions

Achievement in Education Award

  • Achievement in education, practice, research and service to PTAG is widely known by the general membership or attested to by other PTAG members in leadership positions.
  • Has made a valuable service contribution to physical therapy and to PTAG by developing quality educational experiences that improve physical therapy profession through any of the following areas:
    • Academic
    • Clinical
    • Continuing Education

David Belcher Award (Vendor Award)

  • Vendor who has made a valuable contribution to PTAG

Horizon Award

  • Active or active affiliate member of PTAG
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and service to PTAG in the first 2 - 3 years of PTAG membership

Legislative Award

  • Current member of the Georgia Senate or House of  Representatives
  • Demonstrated support for PTAG:
    • In their respective House or Senate
    • With the public
    • With other professional organizations

Merit Award for Exceptional Service & Achievement

  • Demonstrated unique achievement in advancing education, practice or research of physical therapy and made a valuable consistent contribution of service to the physical therapy profession
  • Achievement in education, practice, research and service to PTAG is widely known by the general membership or attested to by other PTAG members in leadership positions

Outstanding Outgoing Officer/Board Member/Workgroup Chairperson

  • Demonstrated consistent performance and service to PTAG

Outstanding Physical Therapist Award

  • May not be a current member of the PTAG Board of Directors
  • Performed activities promoting PTs, PTAs, SPTs, SPTAs and/or the profession of physical therapy
  • Been active in her/his district, place of employment or community
  • Active legislatively

Outstanding Physical Therapist Assistant Award

  • May not be a current member of the PTAG Board of Directors
  • Performed activities promoting PTs, PTAs, SPTs, SPTAs and/or the profession of physical therapy
  • Been active in his/her region, place of employment or community
  • Been active legislatively

Outstanding PT/PTA Team

  • May not be a current member of the PTAG Board of Directors
  • Embodied the core values of professionalism in physical therapy: accountability, altruism, compassion/caring, excellence, integrity, professional duty and social responsibility
  • Recognized by their peers and within their community as positive role models for team work and cooperation
  • Interactive work helped to promote the goals of the PTAG
